PeP
- We can prescribe PEP to you at our office.
- These medications are taken after possibly being exposed to the HIV virus
- PEP should be taken only in an emergency situation
- PEP must be started within 72 hours of possible exposure.
- You need PEP if think you may have been exposed to HIV during sex (for example, if the condom broke),
- You need PEP if you may have been exposed through shared needles and works to prepare drugs (for example, cotton, cookers, water),
- You need PEP if you were sexually assaulted. If you believe you were sexually assaulted please call the police immediately and go to the closest emergency room.
- You need PEP if you are a healthcare worker and may jave been exposed to HIV.
